OVER 75 YEARS AGO…

…Mr. Enno Onken had a dream to create delicious yogurt for his family and neighbours. First he thought, “current yogurt is too sour, what can I do to make it more tasty?”.

He discovered a wonderful blend of probiotic (bio) cultures that made his Onken yogurts mild and creamy.

He realised this yogurt should be something people can enjoy for days and share with their loved ones! So using the best milk and bio cultures he could find, he put his tasty yogurt in big pots for everyone to enjoy.

With real pieces of fruit and perfectly mild natural yogurt, little did he know he’d make the UK’s favourite big pot yogurt for years to come.

With his love for yogurt, he was always finding ways to make yogurt more fun. So throughout the years he created…

…the first yogurt with bits of whole grains using a special recipe to prevent the grains from getting soggy

…the first yogurt with a toy safely in the middle for a surprise in every pot called Frufoo

…chocolates filled with delicious fromage frais to for a creamy bite called Onkiss

…fromage frais with containers in the shape of children’s building blocks for endless fun called Onkyblok

Though some of our Onken products have come and gone, to this day we are focused on keeping Mr. Onken’s passion for yogurt alive and reminding everyone just how fun yogurt can be.
